Welcome to Rockbridge

All of us at Rockbridge are so excited to have you here! We are thrilled to partner with you to further your ministry and build the Kingdom. You do such amazing work with Young Life throughout the year—it is our privilege to host you during your camp week.

We are committed to this in every effort from the planning of trips, the events at camp, the recruitment and training of our staff and volunteers, and how we serve one another.

Please allow us to assist you with any needs that may arise during your time here and we will do our best to accommodate you. Know that you are in our prayers and that we appreciate you!

Please see the Trip Leader Website for more details on changes for Summer 2024.

Thank you!

Before we jump in, we want to pause and thank you. Thank you for showing up in the lives of hurting teenagers with the hope of the Gospel. Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with them as you build friendships. Thank you for continuing to pursue them in the middle of chaos. The work is certainly not easy, but it is so important. We pray that your time at Rockbridge Alum Springs will be a breath of fresh air and will provide your friends with the opportunity to laugh, experience adventure, and hear the greatest Story ever told.

This is a lot of information. However, we have worked hard to ensure that unnecessary information or to-dos have been left out. Hopefully everything included here will keep you informed and make it as easy as possible to get to Rockbridge this summer.

If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact us at youngliferockbridge@gmail.com or 540-997-9276 (office)

We ask that you carefully read ALL THIS INFORMATION as it contains details that will prepare you for your week. There are also several paperwork items that must be completed in a timely manner.

Please fill out this Eastern Division Camp Trip Survey ASAP to help us at Rockbridge prepare to best serve you and your friends!

Pre-Trip YLCC + Housing

With YL Connect Camp being required for summer 2024, we wanted to provide you with more information regarding your trip and what we need from you with YLCC.

The Arrival Form – The arrival form in YLCC replaced the Reg Packet/A Form excel document. This form must be filled out 48 hours before your camp trip and it is best practice to take the first pass at 10 days out. This page in the YLCC Learning Guide walks you through all of the fields that need to be completed. You can also watch this 6-minute video on the arrival form. The following fields must be completed:

Health Form

Housing

Leader Orientation

# of Times at Summer Camp

Checked-In

This must be done for childcare for YoungLives and Buddies for CPNM as well!

Your YL Connect Camp Arrival Form (Housing) MUST be available 48 hours prior to arrival.

If you make changes between 48 hours and your arrival to camp, please email Matt Hypes at mhypes@rockbridge.younglife.org so we can make sure we update information where needed. Don’t forget that you can utilize the Add Registrant feature in YLCC to add a registrant without them completing a WCX registration. Check out the information here in the learning guide or watch this minute and half video.

The Arrival Form Complete button indicates that the arrival form is accurate for your camp trip. DO NOT hit this button. We will review together at settle up and utilize this feature at that time to confirm your campers and leaders.

Our EMT will be collecting medications at the Welcome when your trip arrives. Please collect all medications they have listed on their health form in zip lock bags clearly labeled with the camper/leaders name and area number. Medications should be in their original prescription bottles. Emergency medications (EPI pens, albuterol, Inhalers, insulin, birth control, etc.) will not be collected.

The maximum for the ropes course, climbing tower and zip line is 300 lbs. and the giant swing 350 lbs. If you know have a camper or leader that may be close to these amounts, please have a conversation with them prior to arrival to make them aware of this policy. We don't want an embarrassing moment for them while at camp. Thank you for helping us navigate these situations.
